RoboCup German Open 2026 in Cologne – rosslight as Official Arena Sponsor
A total of 230 teams and 635 participants took part in the RoboCupJunior event—and our arena became the central venue for new challenges.
At the 2026 RoboCup German Open, we participated for the third time as an official sponsor with our own competition arena. Six of our team members travelled to Cologne for the RoboCup German Open with 140 kg of equipment and an arena assembled from 167 individual parts.
A special highlight is our Rescue Maze system, which for the first time enables the simple and flexible implementation of multi-level arenas. Our system is based on our own experiences as former RoboCup participants and our team’s expertise. Thanks to our click system, in which the angles are directly snapped onto the profiles, the arena could be set up much faster and more easily.

Built for the Challenge
In our arena, participants were able to drive their self-built robots over wider ramps and multi-level surfaces for the first time, thereby mastering new challenges.
This modular system not only provided varied competition settings, but also opened up entirely new possibilities for innovative courses and challenges that had previously been impossible to realise.
We are particularly pleased that, although our arena had already been used internationally, this marked its first-time use on a German Tournament—with overwhelmingly positive feedback. Both the on-site volunteers and the organizers praised the system’s ease of setup and flexibility. At the same time, the various levels offered participants exciting and new challenges.
Last but not least, we would like to thank all the volunteers and the organizing team who actively supported us during setup and teardown and made this event possible.
We are delighted to have been part of this year’s RoboCup German Open with our arena and look forward to being there again next year.
